Hollard Highway Heroes promotes road safety and better driving habits by highlighting those truck drivers who go above and beyond to not only deliver their cargo intact and on schedule but who look out for other road users and their fleet owners by driving safely and responsibly.
“Congratulations to Tori. We’re proud to see him receive top honours for driving safely on the roads,” says Elka du Piesanie, Bureau Operations Manager at Hollard Trucking.
“We were able to crown him the winner of his category using telemetry data and a technical examination of his driving. His abilities and professionalism on the road really impressed us and earned him a well-deserved R25 000 category prize. We hope this will inspire other truck drivers across the nation to take action and adopt responsible driving practices.”
Hollard is grateful to all the trucking companies and truck drivers who got into gear for this campaign to become part of the solution.
“We believe local is lekker. That’s why we’re proud to celebrate a local truck driver whose cautious, courteous driving has contributed to safer roads, fewer collisions and fewer claims – as well as cheaper operating expenses, less maintenance and, ultimately, increased productivity,” says Paul Dangerfield, National Operations Manager at Hollard Trucking.
Ramokgadi is the first of five category winners to be named this year, each of whom will walk away with R25 000 for driving responsibly. His fleet owner is Kelvic Vervoer and the broker is De Wet De Villiers Brokers.
“We encourage all truck drivers to enter the Hollard Highway Heroes competition for a chance to win big while driving! Our business purpose, Better Futures, is about improving lives – thank you for enabling us to fulfil this purpose and make a difference on our roads,” says Dangerfield.
