Hollard Insure is the Group’s primary short-term insurance arm in South Africa with specialist lines focusing on corporate and commercial insurance, backed by personal insurance, and marketed mainly through intermediaries.
Hollard was founded in 1980, when a small group of like-minded entrepreneurs decided the time was ripe to offer a new brand of insurance: one that looked at fresh ways of addressing risk protection; one that put clients’ needs first; and one that would give shape to a deeply-held conviction that doing well in business should also be about doing good.
In 2020, Hollard celebrated an important milestone, turning 40. While we’ve been around since 1980, we are still filled with the same passion and enthusiasm for making a difference through the business that we do and the way we do it.
Today, with almost 4 000 passionate Hollard staff in Africa and Asia, more than four million policyholders, and assets close to R50 billion, Hollard is South Africa’s largest independent and privately-owned insurance group. It has become an Afroglobal insurance brand, operating in eight countries across Africa and Asia.
